Wizard Weekly by Daniel Giamario | Aug 31, 2025 |
Context
We are now nearly halfway into the second eclipse season of 2025. As this eclipse season is augmented by two Virgo Moons, all things Virgo are on many minds, and for good reason. TOTAMS has certainly been featuring this topic, with my ramblings and other articles in the last newsletter, and an upcoming vlog in the one coming up this week.
Mercury, passing behind the Sun in the exterior underworld, ingresses into Virgo on Tuesday, its first sign change since beginning the current Leo synodic overstory on August 10. Perhaps, while off the world stage, Mercury can analytically examine the pattern that has been established through intuitive and aggressive communications these past weeks. Mercury reaches the South Node in Virgo on September 12, just before joining with the Sun at 20Virgo54 (with Denebola, the tail of the Lion), serving to amplify this introspection, personally and collectively.
Meanwhile, Mars, is traversing the stars of the Priestess constellation, and aligned with the stars of Corvus, the crow or raven that was once the oracular faculty of the priestesses and sybils. See last week’s Wizard Weekly for more about this. He reaches Spica, the Priestess’s alpha star, on September 14. The Full Moon and long North Node Total Lunar Eclipse on September 7 sees the Sun at 15Virgo23.
The Next Few Days: Extreme Moon at Galactic Center
The current location of Galactic Center (GC) is 27Sagittarius12. It physically lies slightly below the ecliptic, just in front of the arrowhead of the Archer constellation. The Sun can only lie close to it, never cross over it. The Moon however, about every 18-19 years during the Lunar Standstill season, can indeed cross over the GC. This is only possible when during a standstill season, the Moon is at its Southern extreme and in late Sagittarius. It is this phenomenon that contributed to the power and magic of sacred sites, such as Callanish in the Outer Hebrides; sites that are at the right latitude to observe this extreme Moon as it interacts with stones and landscapes. Perhaps it even was what made the experience of the “Great Shining Ones” possible.
The years 2024-2025 constitute the current maximum Lunar Standstill season. The previous one occurred 2005-2006. During this time, the Moon, when near the Solstice signs (Gemini/Cancer and Sagittarius/Capricorn), can go beyond five degrees off the ecliptic. The Moon is Out-of-Bounds yet again from August 30 until September 4 and reaches an extremely extreme 28S37 degrees South declination on September 1 and 2. Simultaneously, the Moon will be at the 27th degree of Sagittarius, the GC degree. As the GC is below the ecliptic, it must be South declination for the Moon to cross over it. The Moon is waxing, slightly past first quarter. It rises just after noon and, depending where you are on the planet, can be seen crossing over GC.
The best place to observe will be Europe on the evening of Monday, September 1. Look for the Moon from 9-10pm. Check your local time for when the Moon is at 27-28Sagittarius. But even elsewhere on the planet, this is worth to be aware of and ceremonializing. Sometimes, this Moon can be seen during the day. In North America it will be Monday afternoon. In Asia, early Tuesday morning, after the Moon has set.
This is a time to compost, to release into GC all that is not in alignment with Spirit and your Life Purpose. During this extreme OOB season, expect the unexpected, but remember that the purpose of Out-of-Bounds Moons is to emphasize your ability to not be assimilated and to express your outlandish and truly unique characteristics … anything but hivemind, conformity, or being like everyone else!
