The June Solstice, the longest day of light in the Northern Hemisphere and the shortest day of light in the Southern Hemisphere is a portal beyond normal time.
The term “Solstice” literally means “Sun Stands Still” which it what it does for 3 consecutive days, creating a “still point”— a portal for information and new creation coming in from our life-giving Sun.
In ancient times this was a sacred time for ceremony to honor this Solar gateway, the arrival of new archetypal energy, set new intensions, gain new awareness and release what is no longer useful to be composted.

ctures in the sky that create the great cosmic clock.
During the June Solstices, from 1962 to 2034, the June Solstice Sun rises on one of these crosses — on the intersection of the Galactic Edge and the Ecliptic—the point in the sky known as “the hand of the High Man” in the Constellation Orion. This celestial point lies below the right foot of the Twin constellation and above the left horn of the Bull constellation. All three of these constellations have been used by different cultures to reference this cross on the Ecliptic as a magical portal bringing new awareness and manifestation from other realms.
Because only tiny stars exist in this area of the sky it appears as a fairly open area of the Constellation Orion, called the High Man by ancient Celts. The Irish saw the High Man as the great warrior hero Cuchulainn, son of Lugh, a chief of the Tuatha De Danann, the ancient tribe of the Goddess Danu. In1500 BC the Beltane Sun would have shone at this celestial intersection .
This mystical point is also known as The Silver Gate or the Gate of Man. The second intersection, created by the Galactic Center and the Ecliptic, located between the Constellations of the Scorpion and the Archer, is called the Golden Gate or Gate of God.
The ancient Egyptians reference the Silver Gate in their artwork. The Egyptian Goddess, Isis displays the Silver Gate wearing the Sun disk between the horns of the Bull on her head— telling of a time when t
his alignment would bring a New Age.
Other Egyptian sculptures and Sarcophagus show their revered with arms crossed on their chest, a symbolism used by pharaohs associated with the Gold and Silver gates of the soul. These gates show up as two crossed keys, one gold and one silver, on the Vatican Coat of Arms.
It is through these gates that many ancient cultures believed souls descend into duality at birth and ascend into heaven after death.
The Native American honored this celestial location near the center of what they call the Sacred Hoop of Stars, a circle of important celestial energies, made up of Sirius, Procyon, Capella, Pollux, Castor, Capella, Pleiades and Rigel, tie this portal to a larger region of the sky.
Orion is one of the most recognizable constellations in the sky often located by the three bright diagonal stars of his belt. Stretched over both sides of the celestial equator in full view for all parts of the world gives prominence to this “Tall Man”.
Orion’s right hand (00 Cancer) will grasp the Sun in his palm on this 2020 Summer Solstice. It is activated by the North Node of the Moon (29 Gemini) adding another layer of meaning to the event. In Shamanic Astrology a North Node alignment is an activation taking the soul forward to its destination point and original intention.
Because the natal chart of the Shamanic Astrology Mystery School has its Ascendant at 01 Cancer this Solstice with the North Node alignment will also activate the original intention of our Mystery School. We can all witness how this manifests in the time to follow.
The Ring of Fire Annular Solar Eclipse Cancer New Moon on June 20th will carry into partial darkness areas of South/East Europe, much of Asia, Africa and North Australia, and then new light will emerge as the Sun escapes from beneath the Moon taking the world into its shadow and bringing it out into a new light.
It is interesting to ponder if this could be fulfilling the Biblical prophecy in Mark 14:62:
“…you will see the Son of Man seated in the place of power at God’s right hand and coming on the clouds of heaven.”
Jesus called himself the“son of man”. The “clouds of heaven” in many scriptures represented God’s veil as they allowed Him to interact directly with his people without exposing them to the “brilliance of his glory” .
