Inner Planets Enter New Phases

by Daniel Giamario | April 6, 2025 |

With Neptune now in Aries and Saturn soon to follow on May 24, let’s turn our attention to the three inner planets who all have significant experiences this week.

Mercury

On Monday, April 7, at 4:08AM PDT, Mercury stations direct at 26Pisces49, officially commencing the Pisces synodic overstory which will last for 126 days. Mercury ends up staying in Pisces for 33 days, including the time at the very end of the previous Sagittarius overstory. TOTAMS uses the ancient Babylonian experiential protocol of beginning and ending phases with the reliable naked-eye signposts of retrograde and direct, rather than the abstract and non-observable Sun-Mercury interior conjunction.

Venus

While still retrograde until April 12, Venus has already attained her heliacal rise on March 29, when employing the 10degree separation from the Sun global ceremonial protocol. Thus, Venus began her new 584-day synodic overstory, also in Pisces, at 28Pisces36 – the first time in Pisces in over 100 years. TOTAMS, honoring the ancient observational approach, considers the heliacal rise to be the beginning of the cycle, not the Sun-Venus interior conjunction.

Also on Monday, Venus exactly aligns with Saturn at 4:01AM PDT, at 25Pisces20. This is the first of two Venus-Saturn conjunctions in April. A second one occurs after Venus stations direct on April 24 at 27Pisces13. In my over 55 years of being an astrologer, I cannot remember this ever having happened. This most remarkable lineup of

  • Venus and Mercury retrograde rising together in the morning sky
  • with Neptune and Saturn
  • along with the North Node

has been a wildly unusual time, further amplified by the eclipse season and vernal equinox ingresses. Massive spiritual and intuitive upgrades are happening, along with equally massive confusion and deception. A post-controlled disruption- and chaos-engineering is well underway – both necessary and expected at the end of Kali Yuga! It feels to many of us that an even more powerful and entirely evident timeline split is in process.

Mars

On Saturday, April 5, Mars conjoined the Moon at 25Cancer20, the third of 3 Moon-Mars conjunctions in Phase One of his Cancer overstory that began January 15, 2025. In the educational process of the young Cancer Mars, this can be likened to post-graduate work and advanced apprentice training. On April 8, Mars reaches the degree of his January 15 first breath, and as Phase Two begins, sets forth on his quest to meet his challenges on the journey across the evening sky towards his fateful underworld meet-up with Venus in January 2026.
