The remarkable features of the unfolding Venus-Mars Underworld Saga continue to amaze and astound. Over the last couple of weeks, I have recounted many of the unique features of this 32-year pattern of Venus and Mars, which is when the 8-year synodic overstory of Venus synchronizes with the 15- to 17-year Mars synodic overstory in the same season and signs. In addition to this, an auspicious encounter with the Galactic Center will now transpire.
To Recap
Using the 10degree-orb protocol, Venus entered the exterior underworld on the other side of the Sun on November 25 at 24Scorpio10. Though we have discovered through direct observation that Venus has lingered many days longer in the early dawn, she is now finally disappearing from view.
Using the 15degree-orb protocol, Mars entered the exterior underworld from the evening side of the sky on November 13 at 6Sagittarius42. However, Mars, in this synod, was lost to view already many weeks before that.
With both these planets now fully off the world stage, they will close to 10degrees of each other on December 18. Their exact conjunction with each other and the Sun will occur January 7-9 2026. This is the closest such alignment in this entire 383-year underworld saga pattern, and the last such gathering in the timeframe of the Great Turning (1962-2034).
Passing Galactic Center
As mentioned above, this particular every 32-year underworld saga pattern includes a feature that is an extremely prominent highlight of this December: On their way to their respective solar conjunctions, both planets pass the Galactic Center. Galactic Center is now at 27Sagittarius12, somewhat below the ecliptic plane. The Galactic Cross, which is an intersection of the ecliptic and the galactic equator (represented by the Solstitial Colure) is 0Capricorn.
Mars passed the Galactic Center on December 10. Mars is currently out-of-bounds and actually nearly occulted the GC last week. On Sunday night, December 14, Mars enters Capricorn, and will be on the Galactic Cross. Mars also squares Neptune on Sunday (29Sagittarius22 / 29Pisces22), placing even more emphasis on this important celestial territory.
Venus will pass Galactic Center on December 22, and will be on the Galactic Cross on December 24! I will be writing more about the remarkable Venus, New Moon and Solar alignments at this December Solstice next week!
Adding to these celestial clues, equally pointing to the Galactic Center and Cross, is Tuesday’s Sun-Saturn square (quadrature) at 8:34PM PST at 25Sagittarius28 / 25Pisces28.
About the Galactic Cross and Galactic Center
This rare underworld saga, in this specific seasonal pattern, happens this way only every 32 years. And only this one so greatly activates the Galactic Center and Cross.
What are the Galactic Cross and Galactic Center? This area of the sky has been known as the “Golden Gate” and is physically a giant black hole at the core of our galaxy. Many mytho-poetic stories and ceremonies around the world – including the Native American Mound cultures, Polynesian, Egyptian, central Asian, and others – have attributed great celestial significance and meaning to this area of the sky. All have seen its significance for the journey of the soul, both in the incarnation process, as well as in various deathing procedures. It can either be seen as a composting area, where a surrender to all that has become obsolete is deposited, OR as a place of ascension where a realized “free soul” sojourns to other unknown realms. The fact that this underworld saga of Venus and Mars is the very one that aligns most closely in a 383-year cycle and so strongly spotlights the Galactic Center and Cross is surely significant. It adds yet another major punctuation point to these accelerated times! Be courageous to be an authentic and pure human. When finally realizing that things will never go back to the way they’ve been before, be willing to allow yourself to go through a grieving process. Only such surrender and genuine grieving can create the space for new creation, and with strength of our spiritual will, can co-create with Great Mystery a rebirth of Prime Earth.
