Planet Magic as An Antidote to The Distractions

Wizard Weekly by Daniel Giamario | July 20, 2025 |

In light of the overwhelming and out-of-control cacophony of chaotic distractions – from the fog of war, ongoing genocides, the political clown shows, fires and floods, the insidious AI takeover, and more – it seems appropriate to tune into the beauty and magic of what is happening in the sky. A recent study revealed that the attention span of young people has shrunk to 47 seconds! A marvellous antidote to being lost in the engineered and accelerating chaos and confusion is to get outside and hang out with the visible planets. This is a great time to do just that.

Let’s take a look at Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. Mercury is now departing the world stage, in retrograde, passing between the Earth and Sun. Mercury retrograde is great, not only for going deeply in, but also for stretching out far to the planets and stars.

Venus

In the morning sky about 41º from Sun, Venus dominates at a magnitude of -4.00. She appears about an hour before dawn, located between the horns of the Bull, inching her way to the Galactic Edge (27Gemini) on July 30. A most special highlight is the Moon aligning with her on Monday July 21, 11:23AM PDT, at 19Gemini12. This will be a beautiful sight on both Monday and Tuesday mornings.

In her Pisces synodic Overstory, this conjunction opens the fourth gate/portal of the Heart Chakra initiation of her descending journey towards the Underworld, which she reaches November 25. Here is where the blocks and barriers to opening the Heart are encountered, and where the connection between Love and Grief can be felt. Interestingly, this alignment is nearly exactly the United States’ natal Mars at 21Gemini22.

May this Heart Chakra portal help reveal the great damage that what having only two choices can do to a country and her people!

Mars

Continuing his evening star journey, in Phase Two of the 25-month Cancer synodic Overstory, Mars is now only 51º from the Sun. Like Venus, he is also closing in on his descent into the Underworld, from the opposite side of the sky, occurring on November 13. Mars and Venus will meet up, off the world stage, in the exterior Underworld, on the other side of the Sun, coming within 10º of each other by mid-December. Mars is considerably dimmer than Venus, now only at magnitude +1.5, as he is now moving towards his farthest distance from Earth.

Mars can be found beneath Denebola, the tail of the Lion Constellation, as he next makes his way through the Priestess Constellation. On Sunday, July 20, he aligns with the South Lunar Node at 19Virgo38. These planetary alignments with the Nodes are quite important. Moving from the Lion to the Priestess is where he encounters the past tragedies and addictions associated with patriarchal Cancer. Facing and integrating this shadow material can prepare him for meeting the strength and wisdom of the Sacred Feminine. This is also the region of the sky which Dane Rudhyar connected with the Great Sphinx.

Jupiter and Saturn

Both giant planets can now easily be found in the morning sky. Jupiter is just about 20º from the Sun, rising at dawn. And Saturn is nearly forming a trine with the Sun, about 117º from the luminary. Of course, when viewing Saturn, you can also tune in to the invisible to the naked eye Neptune just beside. This is the zone of the Vernal Equinox (0Aries).

When seeing Jupiter and Saturn together, imagine their square to each other, a direct experiential connection to what is certainly one of the most important configurations highlighting the year of the end of the Kali Yuga.
