There is much to report about Mercury. On November 29, Mercury stationed direct at 20Scorpio42, commencing a Scorpio synodic overstory which will last for 111 days. This is the first of four Mercury overstories in Water signs. 2026 holds a further three: Pisces in March, Cancer in July, and Scorpio once again in November. 2027 will have Air overstories.
Sunday, December 7, finds Mercury at its maximum morning elongation of -20.36degrees from the Sun. This also happens to be Mercury’s best morning apparition of 2025 for the Northern Hemisphere, great for a viewing opportunity.
Mercury also amplifies a marvellous grand trine in Water signs this weekend, with the Moon bringing this to our rapt attention. A still nearly full moon aligns with Jupiter at 24Cancer02 at 8:51AM PST on Sunday. The entire weekend is also under another extreme out-of-bounds Cancer Moon. Mercury trined Jupiter on Saturday, December 6, at 24Scorpio08, and then trines Saturn at 8:58AM PST on Sunday at 25Scorpio14. What we have is a magnificently magnified Moon-Jupiter combo in Cancer trining Saturn in Pisces (and soon Neptune) and Mercury in Scorpio. By the middle of next week, Mercury will then be in opposition to Uranus.
A Counter-Balance
As a counter-balance to the large number of truly challenging and world-changing aspects and the accelerated confusion of the times we’re in, this grand trine offers a celestial / upper world agency of much needed help and grace. But only if you open to it and choose it with your spiritual will. If you are aligned with your life purpose and connected to Soul, Spirit and Heart, Jupiter-Saturn-Mercury offer a strong middle world support. Otherwise you could be wasting this opportunity.
Trust Your Senses
A hermetic morning maximum elongation of Mercury in Scorpio offers the opportunity to trust your senses, the authentic sensing and feeling capacities of a “pure human.” When being used, you can tell in your gut what is true. You can more easily discern, in a visceral way, who and what is real, fake, or genuinely fake – so important in these times of AI-fakery! This Mercury position is also a marvelous one to be able to feel and sense when your sovereignty and autonomy are being violated. Only recently has the natural capacity for this been so dumbed down, But it is vital to respond to this kind of awareness as pure humans always have!
US Jupiter Return
We can also reflect once again on how the current Jupiter transit is so important to the fate and/or destiny of the United States. The US is in its 20th Jupiter Return and has four planets in Cancer, including a retrograde Mercury at 24Cancer11 (opposed by Pluto!) The recent Full Moon was at 13Gemini04 / 13Sagittarius04. The United States Ascendant is 13Sagittarius10!
Celestial Grace and Mercy
Adding to the high strangeness of this week, and amplifying the celestial grace and mercy that can be accessed, is the station of Neptune on Wednesday, December 10, at 29Pisces22. This is the final and full-speed ahead portion of Neptune’s long journey through Pisces. Just ahead is the much anticipated, and only exact conjunction of Saturn and Neptune in Aries on February 20, 2026. Neither will again retrograde back into Pisces.
