Total Pisces-Virgo Lunar Eclipse
The second eclipse season of 2025 is upon us, both eclipses involving the Pisces-Virgo axis. The March 2026 eclipse season will also feature the Pisces-Virgo axis.
The imminent Total Lunar Eclipse happens on Sunday, September 7, 11:09AM PDT, 2:09PM EDT, evening in Europe, and early morning in Asia, at 15Pisces22/15Virgo22. It is a particularly long one, rated at 1.362. The maximum duration is 5 hours 27 minutes, with totality as long as 1 hour 22 minutes. This eclipse is well placed for Asia, most of Europe, Africa, Australia and New Zealand, as that part of the globe will be in the dark of night. The Americas will have daylight, with the eclipsed Moon on the other side of the Earth.
This is a North Node eclipse, offering less shadow implications and being more hopeful in prospects than a South Node eclipse. This is particularly true for the Americas, receiving the full radiance of the Sun, and all that lies behind and beyond. Nevertheless, just like with all Full Moons, and especially with eclipse events, it’s important to equally take into account the Sun’s position, in this case near the South Node, as the resonant polarity between Moon and Sun is greatly amplified. On the dark side of the Earth, the shadows of night are easily seen. The counterbalance is on the sunlit side where a hopeful future can be imagined and transmissions received. It is worth noting that totality will be experienced throughout the Middle East, Ukraine, India, and most of China and Russia.
As always, TOTAMS recommends to take note of eclipses and to ceremonialize them in ways you find appropriate. In the Americas, get out into the Sun during the time of the eclipse’s totality. For those on the Earth’s dark side, do not take Total Lunar Eclipses lightly. They require courage to face and integrate the shadow. Be in a safe space and with trusted friends and family, to hold sacred space and assist in dreaming the vision forward.
Uranus Stationary Retrograde
Background context for the eclipse weekend is the station of Uranus on Friday, September 5, 9:51PM PDT, at 01Gemini27. As most are aware, Uranus entered Gemini on July 6 this year. Retrograde stations, with about a three-day period, are one of the times where Uranian energies are most concentrated. TOTAMS uses an approximate 18-month initiatory timeframe for transits of Uranus. The current one runs from July 18, 2025, through February 8, 2027. This is the first of several Uranian flashpoints in the months ahead. Soon after, in 2027, the United States will experience their third Uranus Return.
Concentrated initiatory Uranus energies imply sudden change and unexpected events. In Shamanism this is known as “moving the assemblage point.” In the Tarot it’s akin to the Tower card, with a positive implication. I call it “being hit by lightning in a good way.” Uranus’ intent is to create circumstances to direct you to “other worlds”, but unlike Pluto, not to the underworld. Both personal and collective identities can then reassemble at a higher or different level.
Moon Conjunct Saturn
An added feature of the days surrounding this eclipse is the Moon, still appearing full, aligning with Saturn on Monday, September 8, 10:44AM PDT, at 29Pisces28. This surely spotlights the continued Saturn and Neptune presence, amplifying the 0Aries Vernal Equinox degree. Among so many other things in 2025, massive and quantitative change is intended.
