There sure is a lot to discuss and reflect on! My considerations are spread out over four parts.
Venus Rises
For a good number of years now, I have been using Giza as the Prime Meridian for global charts. Using the 10degree global average for Venus’ Heliacal Rise, this points to the morning of October 30.

The general astrological community as well as the proliferation of Venus Synodic Cycle groups that have sprung up, seem to insist on using the Venus-Sun conjunction as the so-called “star point”. This flies in the face of experiential ways, and the traditions and approaches of our predecessors. TOTAMS honors these ways and will always continue to do that. Even the modern astronomical world uses the 10degree orb for the heliacal rise, as it is, indeed, the global average, taking into account the variance between the Northern and Southern Hemispheres in the various seasons of the Venus synods. Consequently, the Star Point in this heliacal rise is clearly Libra, not Scorpio. Actually, eight years ago has been the first Libra Star Point in over a century. There was none in the 20th Century. I therefore suggest using the above chart as the seed point for this 584-day synod, as well as for the next eight years until the 3rd Libra Star Point.

Another significant element of this heliacal rise of Venus is the Spica’s simultaneous rise from the Underworld! I have previously written extensively about Spica being a stellar stand-in for Venus. This alignment with Venus’ rise and the close proximity to Samhain is only happening at this particular junction of the Great Turning in the precessional cycle. Surely, this strongly emphasizes the awakening of the Sacred Feminine and the composting of patriarchy. Patriarchy is only possible in, and is a symptom of, the Kali Yuga.
The Moon Aligns with Mars
As can be seen on the Venus heliacal rising chart, Mars is closing in on Jupiter, with the conjunction exacting on November 15 at 25Leo52, almost as far as Regulus, the heart of the Lion Constellation. On Monday, November 2, the Moon will join Mars at 19Leo24, high in the morning sky. This is a dramatic precursor to the upcoming conjunction. It is also the last of three Moon-Mars conjunctions in Phase Five of the current 25-month Cancer synodic Overstory of Mars, just prior to the conception and gestation of a new Mars Overstory archetype that begins with Mars entering Virgo on November 25. His new birth is when he faces the Sun (at opposition) on February 19, 2027, at 0Virgo46Rx, conjunct Regulus. At that time, Mars is closest to Earth and brightest.
Mercury Joins The Sun on US Election Day
Most astrologers these days use the cazimi, the exact Mercury interior conjunction with the Sun, as the start of a new Mercury Synodic Cycle. TOTAMS prefers the experiential approach of the Babylonians and Sumerians, using the stationary direct day, when, on average, Mercury can again be seen. That will happen on November 13 at 5Scorpio02, the very same day that Venus stations direct!
Nevertheless, the cazimi is super important. It is the most mysterious part of a Mercury synod, when deep metamorphosis and alchemy transforms the Mercury Cancer archetype to the Scorpio one. I wrote about this in my most recent Wizard Weekly and also spoke about it in my latest Vlog.
With dedicated help, I have been researching the pattern of Mercury and Venus being retrograde simultaneously, and will report on the insights gained in a future article. Meanwhile, this interior conjunction is happening on the US election day!
North Node Aligns with United States Natal Moon
I include here the chart of November 4 at 8PM EST.
The Mercury-Sun conjunction is 9:24AM that day at 12Scorpio10Rx. The July 4 1776 Declaration of Independence chart of the United States is also Mercury retrograde. But what really has my attention is the conjunction of the North Node of the Moon with the United States natal Moon at 27Aquarius12 (and Pallas at 26Aquarius31Rx). On election day the transiting North Node is 26Aquarius53. Note the alignment also of the South Node with Jupiter!
Since 2020, I have written extensively about the major transits to the US chart. The 3rd Uranus Return (and the Fourth Turning) is coming up in 2027-2028. What may be the intent of this Nodal transit? At its best, it is a reminder – and a soul return – to the original idealist intent of the US Founders. But every transit since 2020, including the second Neptune Opposition, the Pluto Return, the fifth Chiron Return and more, has seen the US blowing it! The failure to abide by the Constitution and the Bill of Rights and the repeated warnings of the founders have consistently been ignored.
Will there even be an election? And does that even matter? The tech bros seem to have taken over the government. Yet, I surely hope I am wrong and do have hope while consciously willing a better outcome for global humanity.
With both Mercury and Venus retrograde, I will repeat the advice to stay out of the fray, do lots of inner work, and do all you can to align with your life purpose.
