On Saturday, August 9, at 12:55 am PDT, a deeply inspirational Full Moon at 17 Aquarius 00, illuminated by the sovereign light of a Leo Sun, offers us a powerful opportunity for accelerated growth.
As always, this season’s Aquarius Vision Quest Moon invites us to seek renewed inspiration to help us navigate the months ahead with expanded passion and creativity. This year’s energies have an added emphasis on the archetypal Feminine mysteries, starting with Pallas Athena in close conjunction to the Moon, invoking the heart-centered application of Pallas’ creative wisdom in innovative and consciousness-expanding ways.
Vesta and Juno
If we add Vesta and Juno in deep-feeling Scorpio to the mix, forming a T-square to the Sun and Moon, we sense our path leading us not just up and out, but also down and in. As if the cosmos is reminding us that to fully leverage the creative power of the Full Moon air/fire resonant polarity, we will need to traverse Scorpio’s depth realm, where the split off parts of the Sacred Feminine have been languishing in murky waters. Vesta calls us to connect with our ability to focus on our deepest heart’s desire, while Juno demands that we honor our need for profound connection in soul-centered relationship, with others as well as with ourselves.
Venus and Jupiter
Venus approaching Jupiter in nurturing Cancer – the conjunction will be exact a couple of days later – enhances the theme, as the planet of the Sacred Feminine meets with amplifier Jupiter on her descent journey at the heart chakra gate.
This will be a very beautiful, easily observable meet-up of Venus and Jupiter in the early morning sky, visible both August 11 and 12. So be sure to make the time to be with them and see what transmissions they might have for you, as they come together near Sirius in Canis Major in the Sacred Hoop of stars, approaching Galactic Edge.
Sacred Geometry
In addition to the asteroid-replete T-square, this Aquarius Full Moon chart features the stunning sacred geometry of a kite formation, with the equilateral triangle of an air grand trine being topped by a smaller “mini-triangle”, formed by a fourth planet standing opposite to one of the points of the larger triangle.
In this case, retrograde Pluto, the great transformer, at 2 degrees of Aquarius, and weirdly evolutionary Uranus at 1 degree of Gemini are forming the grand trine along with Mars at 01 Libra 28. The smaller triangle is then formed by retrograde Saturn and Neptune, together in the second degree of Aries, standing opposite to Mars in Libra, creating supportive sextile relationships with Uranus on one side, and Pluto on the other.
This means that the flowing, easy-to-take-for-granted energies of the trine are given an uncharacteristic activational flare by Saturn and Neptune forming an opposition. Although the sextile relationships between the three transpersonal planets (Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto) will continue through February and beyond, offering us an ongoing promise of encouragement and aid in these chaotic times, the current magical action-enhancing kite configuration is a more ephemeral punctuation point in the larger story.
With Mars tugging at the “tail” of the kite, we won’t be allowed to fall into unconscious entrainment with potentially untethered air energies. Cancer overstory Mars, now in his questing phase, is being activated by the Libra longing for harmonious relationships, which may feel at odds with an uncompromising Saturn in Aries, committed to doing whatever it takes to bring Neptune soul into practical application. Even if it means upsetting the relational applecart.
What will it take to hold space for the give and take of healthy relationship, making sure that all perspectives are heard and honored, and harmony maintained, while also forging ahead in a no-holds-barred mission to create innovative structures to activate, contain, and support amazing new levels of expanded consciousness?
Saturn and Neptune
The tension created by this back and forth energy is designed to keep us awake and striving, and holds great promise for accelerated soul-development – if we have the commitment and courage to hang in with the process and to provide what it demands of us.
We are all being worked by the ongoing tango between Saturn, master of form, and boundary-averse Neptune, in a dance that will have its apex point next February when they finally complete an exact conjunction. Their rendezvous in the very first degree of the zodiac is truly a world-changing alignment, presaging the arrival of unprecedented new paradigms. The successful navigation of these initiatory energies calls for a radical commitment from each of us to do whatever it takes to be fully present to our own sacred unfolding.
Fierce Protection of The Vision
The Sabian Symbol for this Full Moon degree at Aquarius 17 is “A watchdog stands guard, protecting his master and his possessions.” John Sandbach revisions this in his Pleiadian symbol set as “Carvings of ferocious dogs with wings at the entrance to a temple.” His commentary encourages us toward, “A fierce protectiveness toward all that is sacred. The maintaining of the purity and integrity of the spiritual light.”
As this Aquarius vision quest Full Moon chart, with its stunning sacred geometry, points us to the central import of the larger timings now at play, it asks us to courageously seek an expanded personal vision, sourced in our most authentic truth. The wisdom of the Sabian symbols reminds us that in these perilous times, it is vitally imperative that we continue to foster and protect this unique vision. Our individual and collective future may well depend upon our ability to do just that.
