The New Moon lands at 27°28’ Aries on April 17 at 4:42am PT / 7:52am ET. The Aries energy has been building in the recent months, this week we reach a crescendo.

Sun and Moon will meet to conjunct Chiron at 26°41’ and Eris at 25°17’. Chiron entered Aries back in May 2018 and will move on into Taurus this coming June. We are inside of an amplification of Chiron’s journey through Aries which has impacted individuals in their Chiron Return as well as the collective. We have all been faced with the questions Aries can bring forward; Who am I in all of this? What does it mean to stand inside of my sovereignty? This New Moon is potentially the most potent portal to truly ask ourselves these questions. Even if we don’t know the answers yet, at the very least 100% committing to discovering our unique Soul’s Purpose and role is enough to align with the energy of this time.
There is a lot of hype around this Aries Moon, and around that all to easily applied word match of Mars/Aries=War, perhaps leading many to forget that we all are here on Earth together, that we all have the choice to collaborate with the Aries energy and work with it, dream into it, and harness it in a way that leads to something other than what we believe is the overall fate based in an old, distorted and worn out definition. We could choose to sit back and watch it play out on a screen or we could choose to step into this collaboration with Aries, each of us a conduit, here to connect Sky and Earth.
What is Aries anyway?
What is Aries anyway? Many of us may be feeling called to ask this question first. Aries, along with potentially all of the tropical zodiac signs, has been carried through the past many hundreds of years of patriarchy. It is exciting to note here that, beginning this Summer, TOTAMS will enter into a year long deep dive journey of ‘Calling In The 12 Tribes’, looking at each of the signs and working together to remember their undistorted essence as well as dreaming in their new expression. More on this project here. This feels like essential work during the cycles we are in, where it feels everything we have known to be true is coming into question.
There are some parts of Aries I feel we can confidently stand inside of; We know that tropical Aries is where we find our Sun in Spring in the Northern Hemisphere. Aries is a fire sign, found in the East in many traditional Astrological Systems. These themes alone can guide us into tuning into what Aries might mean for us individually. Here we can contemplate and ask for its essence to be more deeply transmitted to us. Perhaps we will feel our hearts drawn toward a particular cause in the way a sprout pushing through the soil in Spring knows only how to be what it is designed to be? You are the only one who can discover this, with the willingness and courage to go there.
In Daniel’s latest Wizard Weekly he says this:
“TOTAMS offers a different vision: Mars and Aries as noble protector of the Sacred Feminine and Cosmic Order. Mars and Aries as symbols not of aggressive need to win, but of motivating our ‘personal best.’ And most importantly, to defend our personal sovereignty from violation.”
In this New Moon window, some of these contemplations could reach an uncomfortable and gritty climax where we grapple with inner voices who seem to do such a good job of distracting us from our true purpose ~ “Does this please so and so?”, “Will I be accepted?, “Will I be safe?” Never before have I seen such a line up in Aries. Perhaps now with the help of Chiron, Eris, Saturn (07°34’), Neptune (02°48) as well as Mars (05°57’) and Mercury (03°23) we can finally release all questioning and return to the essence of that seed who once knew, without hesitation, its True Purpose.
Venus Third Gate
Meanwhile, it is also worth noting that Venus, journeying through her current synodic cycle in the Pisces overstory, will reach the 3rd gate, the Solar Plexus chakra, on April 18, 12:43pm PT / April 19, 2:43am ET, in Taurus. This gate invites us to reclaim self-confidence, self-esteem, purpose, and inherent power. How graceful and timely that this gate occurs just following the Aries New Moon line up. Venus entered into Taurus March 30. Perhaps the grounding and earthy energy of Taurus at this gate will guide action rooted in our own sense of self-worth and coming out of values that were deeply reviewed during Venus’ deeply initiatory and humbling journey through the underworld this past Winter.
All Planets Direct

All planets are moving in direct motion now and through May 6. Later this month, April 23, we will see Venus meet Uranus in Taurus. Uranus moves into Gemini April 26 (and remains there for the next seven years). And May 16 Mars meet Chiron and Eris. These are, without question, times of forward motion and radical change. It is essential we all take time to centre, ground and align our inner compass at least daily while also ensuring we are nurturing and honoring our nervous system and the pace we can realistically move at right now. As I have mentioned before, this year 2026 is not about keeping up, it is about centering inside of ourselves so that as things shift, we know where we are in all of it.
May this Aries New Moon be an opportunity for all of us to commit or re-commit to seeking out and standing inside of our place and purpose in the great wheel.
