With this in heart, we are delighted to announce:

The Highlands Nature Sanctuary is the nonprofit Arc of Appalachia’s oldest and largest preserve. Its heart is the Rocky Fork Gorge, a 100-foot high steep-walled dolomite canyon with breath taking rock formations, ancient white cedars, grottoes, springs, and stone arches. It is known for its superb overnight nature retreats and spectacular spring wildflower displays. The Sanctuary is also just a 35-min drive south of Serpent Mound, the most well known of the ancient mound structures in this area, where we will visit to witness the eclipse. TOTAMS Astrologer and mound researcher Vivian Hurley who runs the Ancient Ohio Valley Earthworks Project will be our expert guide during this trip!
In addition to our eclipse and mound adventure, this event will host Daniel Giamario‘s LIVE, in-person teaching of Course 05: The Overstory – Cycles of Inner Planets.
In this course, you learn a one-of-a-kind combination of astronomical, astrological, and mythological wisdom relating to the Inner Planets, Mercury, Venus and Mars, as well as the Moon, that will greatly improve your abilities as an astrologer and expand your knowledge of Self, others and the world at large. This unique and invaluable material was created by TOTAMS Founder Daniel Giamario, who introduced this way of tracking and observing the inner planets and connecting with them the way the ancients did. This body of research has been acknowledged as truly groundbreaking since he first introduced it to the astrological community in 1997. The unique approach is only taught this way at TOTAMS.
* The course will begin with an opening circle on Saturday evening, April 6. However, we have secured our venue for a full week and you may already arrive on the afternoon of April 5 and occupy your room.
* Should you be flying into Cincinnati, a van will be available to transport you to the venue on both April 5th and 6th.
*The event will cost between $1400 to $1800 per person, depending on your room selection. There will be single private rooms, shared rooms and rooms for couples.
This cost includes Course 05 (necessary for Level Two Full Certification), accommodation, as well as transportation from and to Cincinnati Airport, to eclipse location, and field trips to ancient mounds including Serpent Mound.
* We are using two lodges for the group, so there are a variety of different accommodation options available. Contact our Course Coordinator, Shiva Faranpour, for information regarding your best options. Rooms will be reserved first come-first served, based on full event payment.
* There will not be catered food. The two large lodges have full kitchens which we will utilize communally.
We will include grocery store trips by van after your arrival at the airport, so you have opportunities to purchase food tailored to your individual needs. Should you arrive independently by car, please purchase food for your needs before your arrival.
While the Total Solar Eclipse is the major highlight of our six days together, there are lots of other events of note during these days:
Day One, Saturday, April 6
If flying, travel to Cincinnati Airport, by 3:00pm. Vans will meet you for transfer to event venue. Dinner and opening circle.
Day Two, Sunday, April 7
This day is dedicated to Class One of the Course: The Overstory – Cycles of the Inner Planets. It will be devoted to the cycles of the Moon; sidereal and synodic cycles, Metonic cycles, Saros cycles, and Nodal cycles. This will be a great background for fully understanding the Solar Eclipse.
Day Three, Monday, April 8
ECLIPSE DAY! This whole day is dedicated to the long anticipated Total Solar Eclipse, the last of four eclipses criss-crossing the continental United States since 2012. We will have excursions to ancient Native American mound structures, including Serpent Mound. Many have lunar standstilI alignments. If all goes well, we will travel near the center line of totality and possibly observe the eclipse from atop one of the mounds.
The Partial Eclipse begins 1:50pm EST, with about four minutes of totality around 3:08pm EST. The Partial Eclipse ends at about 4:23pm EDT: a total experience of 2hours and 32minutes!
Day Four, Tuesday, April 9
Class Two, featuring MARS.
Day Five, Wednesday, April 10
Class Three, featuring MERCURY.
Day Six, Thursday, April 11
Class Four, featuring VENUS
Day Seven, Friday, April 12
DEPARTURE DAY. Breakfast and closing circle. Vans available to transfer participants to airport.

The Visible Planets
Mercury
Mercury, in its Sagittarian Overstory, turned Retrograde on April 1, and is retrograde for the entirety of our time together. It will not be visible. As our event begins, Mercury will only be 10degrees from the Sun and well into the metamorphic transformation into the next overstory. Mercury’s interior conjunction with the Sun on the inside track between the Earth and Sun is on April 11 at 7:03pm EDT at 22Aries32. Mercury will station direct on April 25 to begin the Aries synodic overstory. Wednesday, April 10, will be focused on Mercury during our live teaching of Course 05.
Venus
Venus has been in the morning sky since her heliacal rise in the Leo synodic overstory back on August 19, 2023. As our event begins, Venus will be near the very end of her descent into the underworld, which happens on and about April 27. A major highlight of our time together is the opening of the relatively rare eighth descending gate, known as “Death by Intent”. This is associated with the root chakra and even deeper. The exact Moon/Venus conjunction at 3Aries06 occurs at 12:22pm EDT on Sunday, April 7, our first full day together. The morning conjunction may possibly be visible on the morning of April 7, or even April 8; we will try to arrange as a group to see it, weather permitting. Unless we can spot the conjunction, or have a really low horizon, Venus will essentially not be visible as she slowly descends into the Exterior Underworld. Thursday April 11 will be devoted to Venus for Course 05.
Mars
Mars is now in Phase Four of his Gemini synodic overstory and in the morning sky, having emerged from the underworld on January 8. This is the phase known as Gemini Rebirth and Growth of Wisdom. Mars is slowly increasing in brightness and can be found 36-37degrees from the Sun rather low in the East. Another major highlight during our event is his conjunction with Saturn on Wednesday, April 10, at 4:36pm EDT at 14Pisces40. Mars and Saturn are quite close during all our days together. A Moon/Mars conjunction happened on April 5, which opened the fourth portal Phase four, remaining open until May 4. Mars will be the main feature of our Course 05 on Tuesday, April 9.
Jupiter
Jupiter is in the evening sky about from 31 to 26degrees from the Sun in the stars of the Ram constellation on the way to the Pleiades. Jupiter is fast approaching his highly anticipated exact conjunction with Uranus on April 20 at 21Taurus51. The Moon conjuncts Jupiter on April 10, adding a strong punctuation point to the Jupiter-Uranus alignment.
Saturn
Saturn, in the morning sky, moves from 39 to 37degrees from the Sun. As noted above with Mars, Saturn and Mars are conjunct on April 10, and are within a few degrees of each other throughout our event. They are travelling together in the stars of the Fish constellation.
The Total Solar Eclipse
The MAIN EVENT of our gathering! The Sun/Moon Conjunction is also exactly conjunct Chiron at 19Aries24. Much about this eclipse will be covered in CLASS ONE of the Cycles of the Inner Planets Course (see below).
