Libra Full Moon: Transmuting Stuck Reality

by Silvianne K. Delmars | April 10, 2025 |

This week’s Full Moon is activating the resonant polarity of Self and Other, with the Moon at 23 Libra 19 standing opposite the Sun and Chiron in fiery Aries. It is exact on Saturday, April 12, at 5:22 pm PDT.

With both teacher Chiron and chaos-instigator Eris gathering close to the Sun in impulsive Aries at this Full Moon moment, facing off against a beleaguered, peace-loving Libra, an initial glance at the chart of this Libra Full Moon certainly reflects the energies of strife and discord all around us at this time of seismic shifts, when life as we know it seems to be disintegrating before our eyes.

With Mars in Cancer in a close square to this Full Moon, the potential for conflict is further heightened. Will the Sacred Masculine be able to forge new pathways to express his authentic nurturing essence, or continue to be mired in the Cancer shadow of insular thinking and self-pitying martyrdom, adding fuel to the fires of general discontent?

As always, the complex story told by a deeper look into the astrological moment tells a more nuanced story. One that may point us to a clearer path through the treacherous swamp of general fear and distrust in which we seem to be mired.

Let’s take a closer look

This season’s prominent line up of planets in Pisces, as well as Aries, continues to exert its strong signature, with Venus, Saturn, Mercury and the North Node all within three and a half degrees of each other in the sign right next door to this Full Moon. If we extend our range to ten or twelve degrees, we can add grain goddess Ceres in Pisces and dreamy Neptune in the very first degree of Aries to the mix.

Adding to the intensity of this watery, heart-centered gathering, Venus is turning direct less than an hour after the exact Full Moon, marking the beginning of the descent phase of her Pisces Overstory journey. With boundary-creating Saturn and messenger Mercury (also at the beginning of its own Pisces overstory cycle) firmly by her side as she bravely initiates her journey of death and rebirth, there is a cosmic commitment to seed new structures that will allow the archetype of the compassionate Sacred Feminine to flourish in unforeseen ways. As the old paradigms crumble, we are called to create innovative ways of being and relating, sourced in a felt sense of our unity with All That Is.

The Path Through

But how do we even hope to begin our journey through the swampy morass of these dark times? The degree symbols corresponding to the position of this Full Moon and Sun may offer a signpost. According to Ellias Lonsdale, respected commentator on the Chandra Symbols and a pioneer in elucidating the meaning of the individual degree frequencies, the 24th degree (in any sign) can be one of the most difficult to navigate.

“This is easily the most complex degree frequency, except for the 12. The 24 frequency is not interested in the outer world. It is the least interested in ordinary reality. It is interested in the deep-inside world, entering it, becoming it, going where it takes them. You have to give yourself over to your destiny. It can be the most painful, destructive and difficult of the frequencies. It is the opposite of easy and flowing. Your journey takes you on countless turns and twists.

The 24 frequency is at war constantly and the war rages within. I have to go back to wherever I’m stuck or impeded and get rid of what is stopping me. I sometimes feel that I can’t make sense out of my life. I can’t be a regular person. I end up outlasting evil ways and karmic patterns. I’m the bearer of what’s missing…”

John Sandbach from information shared by Ellias Lonsdale

How does this frequency play out in balance-loving Libra? The Sabian Symbol for Libra 24 is “A third wing on the left side of a butterfly.” This evocative word picture speaks to us of the ability to take an intuitive leap when faced with an evolutionary dead-end. This is how change and growth actually happen. Not through the old, largely inaccurate story of slow, steady, linear progression, but by wild mutations that take us to previously unimaginable destinations.

And, to get there, we first have to believe in our uniqueness, in the validity of our own perceptions, in the possibility of an innate harmony, within ourselves and in the outside world as well – even in the face of seemingly irreconcilable conflicts.

In his channeled Omega symbols, John Sandbach provides us with the following image for this Libra 24 degree, “Gemstones buried in the ground in the pattern of the constellation Orion.”

“This degree has the ability to bring harmony to any and all situations. An inner guidance is at work here, even if it isn’t consciously recognized. What cannot be accomplished quickly or directly can be covertly urged in many different ways, which can eventually break through blockages in relationship. Nothing here happens fast, but given time it can happen in a full, complete way.” – John Sandbach, The Circular Temple.

Although mutations can happen quickly, they are the outgrowth of a long, slow, patient process of peeling through the layers of our own blocks and distortions which creates the opening for their inexplicable, astounding becoming. This Libra Full Moon has resonances with the Solar Eclipse of April 2024, when the Sun and Moon came together in Aries, with healer Chiron at the exact same degree and minute, seeding a huge wave of cosmic unfolding, permeated in true Oneness and anchored in the transformative, pioneering belief that we can forge a new path.

On The Cusp of Emergence

Here we are, at the next phase of our journey, on the cusp of our emergence from the darkness of the Kali Yuga, with a long road of redemption and recovery stretching into a foggy, unpredictable future. If we find ourselves still imprisoned in the old belief systems of “us vs. them” we can be sure we have strayed from the path that will take us through.

Through our allegiance to our own deepest knowing we have the power to transmute the energies of fear into love, in each eternal now moment. To accomplish this daunting task, Libra needs a healthy grounding in Aries’ sparky “me-ness.” Sourced in a courageous willingness to stand by our own deepest knowing, we can transmute a stuck view of reality into a new, perhaps even weirdly beautiful, blueprint that offers a renewal of possibility for a world in transition.
