Being the Umbraphile (eclipse addict) that I am, I had the great pleasure of facilitating yet another eclipse adventure for the August 12 Total Solar Eclipse. In combo with a rare in-person teaching of Course 03 Relationships & Inner Wholeness, 15 brave and adventurous souls from Malaysia, Spain, France, Portugal, Ireland, England, Mexico, and the United States convened with me for nine days at the most perfect venue we could have imagined – Azala, a retreat center in the Basque country of Spain, totally rural, only about an hour south of Bilbao.
The Eclipse
On the day of the eclipse, taking in the wonders of the Necropolis Peña San Clemente and the charming medieval town of Frias, we journeyed to the Menhir de Canto Hito. Located on a wide plain, this sacred site offered perfect eclipse viewing conditions. The eclipse, with 1:44 minutes of totality, happened about an hour before sunset, and our group was able to ceremonially witness all of its phases, right from the beginning to completion with a glorious sunset.
As this was a South Node eclipse, unlike the 2024 Ohio Solar Eclipse which was aligned with the North Node, I had been curious what we would encounter. Again, it was a loving and heartful experience, without any shadow repercussions. As we gazed at the corona, we all had huge heart openings.
This was the sixth time I set out to witness totality of a Solar Eclipse. I have been successful in four out of these six attempts and look forward to the next one in August 2027. Here’s to many more!
Graduation
Later in the week, we also had an opportunity to visit the magical Sorginetxe Trikuharria Dolmen where we ceremonially initiated two new foundationally certified TOTAMS astrologers: Kathy Medbery from the US and Aisling Walsh from Ireland.
I and our entire group are left with deep gratitude, and the resolve to continue meeting up in-person, heart to heart, soul to soul, whenever and wherever possible.
