Pisces Full Moon & Lunar Eclipse: Inspirational Flow

by Silvianne K. Delmars | Sept 3, 2025 |

On Sunday, September 7, at 11:09 am PDT, a Lunar Eclipse Full Moon at 15 Pisces 23, in resonant polarity with a deeply sacred Virgo Sun, initiates a powerful eclipse window, set to close with the second-in-a-row Virgo New Moon on September 19.

With the Full Moon in Pisces there is a profound invitation, and strong support, for opening ourselves up to the realms of magic and mystery. Listen to dreams, sit in stillness, court idleness, revel in imaginative play. What secrets is the cosmos just waiting to whisper into your listening inner ear?

Eclipse Energies

By definition, the Moon and Sun will always be closely aligned with the nodal axis during a Lunar Eclipse. The closer this alignment, the fuller the eclipse. On Sunday, they will be separated by less than three degrees, marking this as a total lunar eclipse, visible from Asia, Western Australia, Africa, and parts of Europe and Oceania, with the very best views in Asia and Western Australia. It will not be visible from North and South America, because it is happening during daylight, before the Full Moon is set to rise.

But no matter where we are on the Earth, we can certainly tune in to the eclipse transmission. This is a time to contemplate our own shadow material, using this transformative window to clear any blocks that may be holding us back. Although there is always shadow material associated with Lunar Eclipses, north node eclipses like this one also have more of an emphasis on how we can leverage the energies of change to carry us forward into new ways of being.

Remember, the nodal axis is an indicator of humanity’s (and an individual’s) larger timeline, invoking the wisdom of our deep past as it leads us towards an as-yet-unknown future. What information is encoded into this particular Pisces Full Moon? How can we best take advantage of its power to accelerate us, both personally and collectively, towards our most fulfilling future expression?

New Moon Alignments

With messenger Mercury in ceremonial Virgo nearing its exact alignment with the Sun at this Full Moon, the potential for receiving messages to accelerate our spiritual path is enhanced – especially if we are willing to consciously foster sacred space through ceremony and intention.

Falling into the shadow aspects of Pisces, including confusion and escapism, is also a possibility, of course. Remembering to call in the balancing Virgoan virtues of deep connection to nature and clear-eyed discernment, especially when it comes to our very human tendency to get lost in the fog of our own delusions, is all-important.

That said, the magical potential of this Full Moon is enhanced by the on-going sextile relationship of four of the outer planets, all retrograde, and mostly in very early degrees of their current signs, lining up almost exactly at this Full Moon moment. Pluto in visionary Aquarius is in a flowing trine to wildly evolutionary Uranus in Gemini, with Saturn and Neptune stationed in between in the last degree of numinous Pisces and the second degree of pioneering Aries, respectively.

We are in a potent cauldron of change as a New Earth is getting ready to be birthed out of the ruins of the old. As we continue to struggle with the seemingly contradictory energies of confining Saturn and otherworldly Neptune in a dance of coming together that will reach its culmination next February, the ongoing question is “how do I create soul?”

There couldn’t be a better time to allow ourselves to become a totally new version of who we truly are, unbounded by the distortions of societal expectations and false past programming. Our deeper soul self is waiting to unfold in unexpected, perhaps even slightly alarming, ways. What will it take for us to support our own most surprising sacred expression? And, with these four outer planets in harmonious relationship, and all retrograde, the invitation is to make sure that the new self we are birthing is sourced in our deepest essence.

Sabian and Chandra Symbols

The Sabian symbol for the Full Moon at Pisces 16 is “The flow of inspiration.” This degree frequency invokes that potent intersection, the genesis point in all creative endeavors, where the inspiration that comes from Source meets the realities of our particular time and place, brought into form by our own unique genius.

In order to fulfill our role as creator beings, we must be open and alive to this process. And for that to happen, we need to have faith in the existence of that greater Source, and a strong enough grounding in our own sense of self to have the courage to share with the wider world what wants to be birthed. And, perhaps most fundamentally, we must have the ability to concentrate and to foster inner quiet.

John Sandbach’s Pleiadian symbol for this Pisces 16 degree is “A river of ideas and images entering our reality” and his Chandra degree is “A peaceful child on a narrow ledge that overlooks a precipice.” His summary of this degree frequency invokes “an acceptance of life situations and a patient expectation of change.”

Saturn Can Be Our Greatest Friend

As much as we sometimes hate to admit it, boundary-creating Saturn can be our greatest friend in this process, offering us the needed tenacity and grounding to keep showing up for what needs to be done to create the life we know, deep inside, we came to live. She urges us, in no uncertain terms, to take responsibility for our own lives – to make the everyday decisions, followed by concrete actions, that lead to turning our Neptunian inspirations into earthly reality.

In a beautiful synchronicity, Saturn is currently zodiacally aligned with the star Achernar in the southern constellation of Eridanus (only partially visible in the northern hemisphere, during winter months). Eridanus means flowing river, and this beautifully expansive constellation was associated with rivers in many ancient cultures. The name Achernar describes this star’s position at the end of this starry river, and the star has long been associated with psychic sensitivity and the ability to bring forth inspirational ideas to the world.

The Instructions Coming From The Cosmos

As the chaos and unpredictability of the outer world continue to increase, it becomes ever more vital to foster our own deep connection with our inner Soul self. The instructions coming from the cosmos at this time couldn’t be more clear. We are being undeniably coaxed and cajoled at every turn into entering a new way of being. We are urged by unrelenting circumstances to take on the innocence of the child at the precipice, as we learn to trust and surrender to situations we cannot control.

It is time to drop the non-essential, as we make the time to turn in ever more deeply to the wellspring of our inner source of security and wisdom. And to turn from our head to our hearts, as we expand and deepen our connection with our intuitive knowing. Only by learning to be peaceful from within, even in the face of seemingly impossible situations, can we create the space for previously unimaginable solutions to arise. This is indeed the most essential work to be done as we midwife the birth of a new reality.
