Spotlight on Venus and Mercury

In addition to the Leo New Moon on Sunday, August 4, three other significant events highlight the week:

  • Mercury turning retrograde
  • the Mercury-Venus conjunction
  • the rapid approach of Mars to Jupiter in the morning sky.

Mercury Retrograde

Mercury is stationary retrograde at 8:56PM PDT, Sunday, August 4, just about 16 hours after the New Moon. At 4Virgo06 and about 21degrees from the Sun, this is a significant turning point in the greater Aries synodic Overstory of Mercury. From an observational perspective it is generally the time when Mercury will no longer be visible. In the Overstory, it marks the beginning of the time of synthesis, when Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo and Virgo are melded together in preparation for a great metamorphosis into the Leo Overstory that begins as Mercury turns direct on August 28 at 21Leo25.

While retrograde, and as Mercury is off the world stage between the Earth and Sun, we suggest that linear, objective and rational perspectives be taken with a grain of salt. It’s a marvelous time for inner work and to dive deep into the intuition and imagination that arises from your Soul and from Great Mystery. A slim crescent Moon spotlights Mercury also on Sunday at 10:19PM PDT.

Mercury Aligns with Venus

On Wednesday, August 7, at 8:12PM PDT, in the evening twilight, a rapidly descending and dimming retrograde Mercury aligns with a slowly rising and brightening Venus at 3Virgo43. This will be extremely hard to see without binoculars. We might imagine Mercury transmitting knowledge and guidance to Venus as she is beginning her ascent.

The Moon Opens The First Chakra Gate for The Ascending Venus

The Moon conjuncts Venus 4:24PM PDT at 1Virgo04 on Monday, August 5, in the evening sky. Venus is only about 18degrees from the Sun, and so far, she has not been easily seen in the evening twilight. The evening of August 6 will be a good time to look for Venus and the young Moon.

In the Leo Venus synodic Overstory, this conjunction opens the First Chakra gate in the evening star ascent of Venus after her sojourn in the underworld. This signifies the full return of her LIFE and strength. As her root chakra has been reborn, a sense of all possibilities returned!

With this gate being opened in Virgo, Venus is also now in harmony with the PATTERN of Gaia, as well as in close relationship with the Royal Star Regulus, the Heart of the Lion, and strongly connected to Archai Michael.

Mars Closing in on Jupiter

As Mars slowly moves closer to Jupiter, with their conjunction just ahead on August 14, there continues to be an astonishing planetary display in the early morning sky. If you missed the Moon spotlighting them this past week, you will have another chance near the end of August.

I find it worth noting that these important configurations are both in alignments with Royal stars. Mars and Jupiter are close to Aldebaran, the Eye of the Bull, as Venus and Mercury have been connecting with Regulus.

Meanwhile both Mars and Jupiter are approaching the United States natal Mars at 21Gemini22. Mars reaches there on August 21, and Jupiter almost on August 9, when it stations retrograde at 21Gemini20. Only 2min off the mark, this means that Jupiter will be within a degree of the US Mars from September 14 – November 2, and then exactly conjunct on April 30, 2025.
