This week’s astro update begins with an out-of-bounds Sagittarius New Moon on Saturday night, November 30 and ends with a second quarter Pisces Moon next Sunday morning. Here are the highlights (all times in PST).
Saturday, November 30
The Moon meets with the Sun at 10:21 pm this evening at 09 Sagittarius 33. Sagittarius’ love of exploring new territory is heightened by an iconoclastic out-of-bounds Moon, rising and setting farther north along the horizon than the Sun ever goes. What new ground is your soul being asked to explore over this next month? And are you willing to challenge your own comfort zone to get there?
This New Moon is with royal Antares, at the heart of the Scorpion constellation, star gate to the potency of Galactic Center. Be sure to tune in for messages as you set intentions for this powerful lunation month.

Leo Overstory Mercury, having just turned retrograde on November 25, is beginning its mysterious, 10-day metamorphic phase today as it comes within 10 degrees of the Sun. Now invisible as it passes between the Earth and Sun, the planet of communication is shape-shifting into a whole new archetype as it prepares to begin a new synodic cycle in vision-questing Sagittarius on December 15.
The Moon, still in the 3-day New Moon window, will make its exact pass over Mercury this evening and a few hours later Mercury will be in a supportive, fiery trine to teacher Chiron in Aries. This Mercury activation in fiery Sagittarius will continue throughout the month, inviting us to listen within for intuitive wisdom transmissions of direct knowing.
Tuesday, December 3
The Moon reaches its extreme out-of-bounds south position today as we near the center of the 18- to 19-year Lunar Standstill cycle. Another reminder that we are living in remarkable times. Clinging to old habits of mind and behavior will not take us to our souls’ intended destination – only a radically new orientation will do! Today would be an excellent time to jump start this innovative inner and outer journey of becoming.
The sliver of waxing crescent Moon will be visible below Venus towards the west just after sunset, as it moves towards its exact meet-up with Venus in Capricorn tomorrow. This conjunction will mark the entrance to the fifth gate portal in the Leo overstory Venus ascent journey, activating the throat chakra. Be sure to tune in with this beautiful timing, whether it is visible in your local sky or not, asking for wisdom in your journey towards perceiving and speaking your deepest truths.

The Sun in Sagittarius is squaring Saturn in Pisces this morning, urging us to initiate action in bringing our spiritual ideals into concrete form. In what ways are we being called to live more consciously in both the spiritual and material worlds, enhancing our ability to shift more fluidly between the two?
Earlier in the morning, messenger Mercury in sparky Sagittarius is standing opposite to Jupiter in Gemini, one of the many activations this week of this resonant polarity in the yang signs of service to spirit. As metamorphic Mercury opens itself to new levels of received truth in its journey to the heart of the Sun, expansive Jupiter reminds us to lighten up, opening ourselves to the crazy currents of its shape-shifter wisdom.
As the Moon meets with Venus in the evening sky at the fifth chakra gate, Pluto is experiencing a Moon activation as well, adding an even deeper note as we seek new, more grounded expressions of our heart’s wisdom, allowing us to bring the fullness of our unique gifts more fully into the world.

Mercury makes its interior conjunction with the Sun this evening, marking the most intense point in its 10-day metamorphic phase, as it prepares to shift into its new Sagittarius overstory at the end of next week. What transmissions might it have for us, as it surrenders all the hard-won wisdom of its journey through creative Leo in the fire of the Sun, as as prelude to embracing a whole new cycle?

Gemini overstory Mars, now in the final gestation phase of its 26-month synodic cycle, is stationing retrograde today at 06 Leo 10. Having moved completely through Cancer and on into Leo since early September, it is now returning back towards Cancer in preparation for its new Cancer overstory synodic cycle journey, set to begin in January.
As Mars incubates a new dream for the authentic sacred masculine version of nurturing Cancer, he is being infused with Leo’s heart-centered creativity. How might we be guided at this moment to nurture our own inner masculine with Leo’s essential sense of sovereign self?

Venus entered Aquarius late yesterday just after meeting with asteroid Ceres, and will make an exact conjunction with Pluto this morning. This is a powerful line-up of three deeply feminine archetypes in the very first degree of Aquarius. What is our relationship, both personal and collective with earthy Ceres, ancient grain mother, and all she represents?
In the ancient Greek myth, Ceres’ daughter Persephone was abducted, violated, and dragged to the land of the underworld. As the planetary stand-ins for these archetypal energies come together here and now in the initiatory degree of evolutionary Aquarius, are we ready to envision a new version of this story of grief and exploitation, deeply informed by Pluto’s power of transformative rebirth?
This timing reverberates with the powerful conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in this same degree at the December Solstice of 2020. Time to initiate the next level in our evolution towards a truly egalitarian world, sourced in a more authentic, loving relationship with our sacred planet.

The Second Quarter Moon in Pisces squares the Sun in Sagittarius, exact this morning. The Moon can be found near Saturn in the evening sky, looking towards the south (both yesterday and today). Fomalhaut, royal star in the mouth of the Fish constellation, is shining below. Another powerful reminder this week of the importance of grounding our spirituality in practical service to spirit.
