This New Moon lands on July 14 at 21°59’ Cancer at 5:43am ET/ 2:43am PT or, as you can see in the original Prime Meridian chart, 12:43pm Giza, Egypt.
Recent weeks have been reported by many as frenetic and unhinged. Perhaps played into by Uranus in Gemini the Trickster Revolutionary meeting with Mars in Gemini on July 4 as well as Uranus still in a lingering square to the Nodal Axis (the collective arrow of intent). This combination all occurred inside of the Mercury retrograde period which is still active now. For life to show up as mundane or linear would have been a surprise to me.
This energy will continue for a while. Is this what we’ve been experiencing the effects of in our own lives – where we made sudden decisions, received unexpected news, felt some nervous energy, or had a strong craving for freedom? This is all part of Uranus’s strategy – to deliver a weather system that brings us to a place that demands change so that we can discover new or unique directions. Inside of this we are thus required to find ways to navigate such energy. While the pace feels fast and the events unpredictable, it is advised to prioritize slowing down wherever possible – there is no need to effort to accelerate or ‘get one ahead’, this may just exacerbate the situation further! Trust is key, and ‘rolling with the punches’ as Daniel Giamario would say.
Mercury Still Retrograde
Onward to this New Moon we find a conjunction to Mercury, who will remain retrograde through July 23. In the sign of Cancer, there is a message here; Mercury is about to start its next overstory in Cancer – a journey of learning, growth and refinement around our ability to listen, relate and communicate with care and loving Mother energy. This said, we must be mindful not to fall into co-dependant tendencies. A strong and centered Mother is honest and real with whom or whatever she is caring for! This is not about being kind and nice for the sake of it but to be equally honest and in integrity. Maybe the New Moon seed point is a marker for leaning into this exploration and inquiry during the coming lunar cycle.
Venus Approaching 6th Ascending Gate
On July 10 Venus was exactly conjunct the South Node of the Moon (the tail of our collective arrow of intent). This conjunction is a little weaker but still present during this New Moon at just a few minutes over 5° of separation. Due to the aforementioned and still present configuration between Uranus, Mars and the Nodes it may be that the Inner Feminine principle is either called in to help facilitate or is experiencing personally and directly, the release of whatever is ready to be let go of. Uranus is so strongly initiating this right now.
Venus is seen approaching her 6th ascending gate, the 3rd eye chakra in her current 584-day overstory journey in Pisces. At the time of the New Moon she will be in the last few days of her reclamation and empowerment around the 5th gate, the throat chakra. She does not reach the 3rd eye until July 17 at 11:05am ET / 2:05pm PT. Right now, communication, voice, knowing when it is time to listen and when it is time to speak up is all a part of this particular cycle we are in. Notice a harmonious, healing trine with Chiron to Venus in this chart which feels particularly helpful right now as we all navigate some potentially uncomfortable territory.
Leo – Aquarius Nodal Axis Shift
On July 27 the Nodal Axis will shift, for the first time in 18 months, into new signs – Leo and Aquarius. This shift will bring us into a new directional arrow of intent with Aquarius (note: in greatest resonance with Uranus) at the helm of the ship. As described inside the TOTAMS paradigm, this axis is one of ‘Self Interest’. Aquarius being the less personal of the two, we are still asked to listen to our own unique and original individuality, as is shared in this article I love:

Eclipse Season Begins
The next New Moon will highlight the shift in the Nodal Axis as it marks the beginning of Eclipse Season with a Total Solar Eclipse at 20°01’ Leo/Aquarius. More revolutionary energy is on the horizon! Let us all find ways to slow down and really drink in the beauty of Summer (in the Northern Hemisphere) so that we can recharge, refill and ground down inside of these transformational cycles.
