The journey Mars is currently undertaking can acutely illuminate what is happening and what possibly can happen on the world stage just now. With Mercury in the interior underworld, shape-shifting in its metamorphic phase to fully birth into the Leo synodic Overstory when stationing direct August 11th, and with the ongoing Saturn-Neptune conjunction near the Vernal Equinox, it is extremely confusing trying to figure out what is happening and what to do! So let’s turn to Mars and see what we can discern.

The Moon joins with Mars on Monday, July 28, at 24Virgo19, underneath Denebola, the tail star of the Lion Constellation, just entering the head of the Priestess Constellation. This sky zone represents the union between two different kinds of sovereignty and autonomy: the Self and “I AM” of Leo, and the purity and wholeness (the “one unto herself”) of the Priestess, as was said by Esther Harding. These understandings apply to both the sign and constellation. The TOTAMS astrological paradigm is continuously exploring the interactions of the constellation and the sign. It is relevant to explore this with regards to the currently unfolding Mars journey.
Important Challenges
Mars will be reaching the fourth Moon-Mars conjunction of Phase Two of the current 25-month Cancer Overstory that began in January 2025. Phase Two is where he encounters a number of important challenges or quests, as he journeys towards the underworld, in this case, arriving there later this year, on November 13. Each Moon-Mars conjunction is a portal of initiation, lasting until the next Moon-Mars conjunction. We study this by sign and constellation.
So far on his journey in Phase Two (which began April 8), by this Monday Mars has traveled from 26Cancer12 through 24Virgo19 by tropical sign. He also started Phase Two just past the twin stars Pollux and Castor of the Twins Constellation, then moving all the way through the Crab and the Lion Constellation. This portal is where the archetypal masculine principle, in both men and women, begins the journey into and through the Priestess. In this phase, Mars passes through her head and shoulders, and then aligns with many of the most sacred stars of the pre-patriarchal Sacred Feminine, such as Porrima and Vindeamiatrix. The subsequent portal will find him with Spica.
What Is His Quest?
What is expected of Mars in this fourth portal and what is his quest? After gathering strength and hopefully not arrogance and false pride, Mars now faces the mystery teachings of the Sacred Feminine. Can he handle her discriminating assessment of patriarchal Cancerian masculinity? Will he be open enough to look at the shadows and mistakes? She will also appreciate the ways where he has done well and nobly, within the confines and expectations of patriarchy. Soon, when he faces his underworld surrender, he will grieve the repercussions and collateral damage of the Ages of Aries and Pisces. It is noteworthy that the United States natally has four planets in Cancer, including the Sun, and is in a Jupiter return. These next months will shed much light on her fate and destiny.
Call Out To All Seed People
With so much up in the air, and most prophecy as much in the dark as anything or anyone else, let’s pray that Mars will have the courage to see the way forward and help to create a more global vision of Cancer; when Global humanity, in co-creation with Great Mystery commits to the highest definition of the Cancer Mystery School: “To provide personal and responsible nourishment to all seeds so that they may reach their maturity.” I call out to all Seed People to tune into Mars and empower this great project.
