Wizard Weekly by Daniel Giamario | Sept 15, 2025 |
Last week I began a 5-week sojourn to facilitate several in-person events in Arizona, New Mexico and Nevada. These past few days, I spent in Sedona for a wonderful Astrology Weekend conference created by the Sedona Astrology Club. Here, I had the opportunity to offer two night sky presentations under ideal sky conditions, attended by nearly a hundred folks. I also delivered the keynote talk on the Great Turning of The Ages.
After many months of monsoon in Asia and almost no night sky to enjoy, it’s such a pleasure see clear skies and bright stars again – only ruined by way too many “satellite constellations”. Thanks, Elon …not!
Today, on Monday, September 15, I am introducing a group of apprentices to one of my favorite sacred sites, a petroglyph site in the Nevada desert that is an entire hierophany. Following that is our sold-out 8-day Faywood Hot Springs Cosmology course, where I’ll have the pleasure of being joined by Gemini Brett and John Dumas. Not only will we celebrate the September Equinox, but we’ll also place some additional stones in the stone circle that I designed there, marking the Lunar Standstill and completing the circle!
Mercury and Mars Spotlighted
Just two quick things of note:
Mercury Conjunct the Sun
Saturday, September 12, 3:52AM PDT, at 20Virgo54
Mercury is currently off the world stage, on the other side of the Sun, in the psychopomp phase of the Leo Overstory. This conjunction time is where wisdom and intuition is being gained from the Lion and Priestess constellations. Mercury’s union is with the star Denebola, the tail of the Lion, in that mysterious zone between the two stellar constellational energies that signify two different versions of autonomy and sovereignty. It’s also an area of the sky with a connection to the sphinx. Mercury will rise in the evening sky in the hermetic phase next week.
Mars conjunct Spica at 24Libra
Mars is noticeably descending into the underworld, just 32 degrees from the Sun now, nearly farthest from Earth and Sun, and quite hard to see in the brightness of dusk. Our groups in Sedona failed to see him. Perhaps we’ll have better luck at Faywood. This passage of Mars is of particular importance to me as Mars and Spica will align with my Ascendant, in the same phase as my Mars synodic cycle at birth. Mars, as I have previously explained, is receiving teaching from the Sacred Feminine, just before he enters the underworld in November, as Venus also will enter then, from the opposite side of the sky.
