Taurus Full Moon: Returning to Vital Source

On Wednesday, November 5, at 5:19am PST, an effulgent Taurus Full Moon at 13 Taurus 22, in resonant polarity with the Sun in activational Scorpio, invites us to follow that which magnetizes us from within, if we wish to create the magic most needed by a world on the brink of fundamental transformation.

 

 

The degree symbols for both the Moon and the Sun, at 14 Taurus and Scorpio, respectively, illuminate this journey to source, and what is at stake.

 

Moon

 

The Chandra Symbol for the Moon at 14 Taurus is “An old lady selling bunches of violets on the street corner.” The Omega symbol is “A woman making her way to the center of a labyrinth”. Both images seek to remind us of the latent power of aligning with what is most essential.

With so much upheaval all around us, we may be tempted to believe that the simple gifts we have to offer are not enough. This Full Moon degree reminds us that our inner frequency, attuned to currents of regeneration, has an unfathomable power to activate others and to help them attune with their own soul knowing. Surface affects are not what is most important, despite what we may have been taught by the mavens of a dying paradigm.

 

Sun

 

The Chandra symbol for the Sun degree, Scorpio14, reminds us that surrendering to the true depths of our grief is a key element in unleashing the power of awakening now being called for on Earth: “Women dressed in black. They are wailing and mourning”. We have all come at this time of profound transformation to bring spirit fully into matter. Supporting each other in our authentic grief, so we may release and heal all that no longer serves, is crucial to this process. Regenerative, exuberant joy lies just on the other side of unbridled grief.

John Sandbach’s title for this degree is “the awakening of life in material substance.” His Omega symbol for this same degree is “A white marble foot glows pink as it turns into flesh”. Gaia herself is in an unprecedented process of mutation – and we are called to support her by surrendering unreservedly into the depths of our own personal metamorphosis, despite the impossibility of knowing where it may lead.

 

Venus and Mars

 

Venus, in late degrees of Libra, about to enter Scorpio on November 6, is still visible in the morning sky among the stars of the Priestess constellation. She is in sync with our theme of depth exploration, having entered the Root Chakra gate on her journey of descent just before the Libra New Moon, as she prepares to enter the underworld at the end of November.

Venus is also forming a transformational grand cross with Chiron and Eris in resonant polarity in Aries, squaring expansive Jupiter in nurturing Cancer, with Pluto in the first degree of Aquarius completing the cross.

Mars, already impossible to view with the naked eye in the evening sky, is preparing for the inauguration of his own underworld journey on November 13. He is at the first degree of Sagittarius on this Taurus Full Moon chart, still hanging out near messenger Mercury, with Uranus in Gemini directly opposite. What unexpected transmissions might they have for us, reminding us to embrace this unknown in this pregnant moment?

This is a powerful time to tune in with these planets representing the Sacred Feminine and Masculine, as they prepare to disappear behind the Sun, where they will meet over the next few months, invisible to our view.

 

Chiron and Eris, Harbingers of Deep Transformation

 

While contemplating the chart for this Taurus Full Moon, I was drawn to the position of Chiron and Eris in their ongoing dance, noticing that Chiron is at 24 Aries 01 and Eris at 24 Aries 59, both retrograde. The synchronicity of their positioning at the very first and last minutes of the degree felt deeply meaningful. Further research led me to the discovery that when they come together (both direct) for the third and last time next spring, on March 19, they will meet at 24 Aries 59 – the exact same degree and minute of Eris on this Full Moon chart!

John Sandbach’s synchronistic title for this degree frequency is “exploration of chaos or locating the source of vital (creative) energy”. Eris is here to remind us of the importance of embracing chaos (and unleashing its latent vital creativity), as she joins with teacher Chiron to help us heal our ancient wounds, restoring the Aries archetype to its rightful place as defender of what we hold most dear.

The Chandra symbol for this activational Chiron/Eris degree of Aries 25 is “A great dragon asleep in a cave”. This is an image that has been appearing in my work with several different clients over the past weeks and months, and I intuit its resonance for the collective psyche. There is a powerful, ancient presence stirring in the depths. We may not feel entirely comfortable with this knowing, sensing the irreversible, old-Earth-shattering changes it presages. While, at the same time, its undeniable magic calls to the depths of our becoming. What is the nature of the treasure that it holds?

 

Where Are We Being Pointed?

 

The Pisces New Moon, exact 10 hours earlier the same day of Chiron and Eris’ conjunction next March, will be near Saturn and Neptune as well. I believe we are being pointed to the essential importance of this time, right now, as a mutational gestation point for the great change taking place for humanity and Gaia herself. We are in the intense depths of the chrysalis stage, through the rest of this year and on into next spring, when Saturn and Neptune come together at the zero Aries point. What we do now, during these days, weeks, and months, matters profoundly, for each of us and for our collective destiny.

Saturn is calling us to act, to take the steps necessary to live a life attuned to who we truly are, sourced in the previously unknown depths of our own Soul. At the same time that Neptune urges us to dissolve our stubborn allegiance to “having a plan”. We can’t possibly know where this journey leads – there are no maps to a realm that does not yet exist, as we follow an irresistible inner calling through the serpentine passages of a mysterious labyrinth. The path is created before us, step by step, as we follow the clues gleaned from tuning in to the inner subtle currents.
