Venus Into Taurus – What Does It Mean?

Venus crosses into Taurus on Monday, March 30, at 9:01AM PDT. This is happening with Pisces Overstory ascending Venus in the evening sky within her Second Chakra Portal that began March 20. Venus last entered Taurus also after the second Moon-Venus conjunction, but this was connected to the Sixth Chakra Portal during her descent, June 5, 2025.

There is a remarkable pattern with the 584-day Venus synod: Not only do the morning and evening phases mirror each other, but the sign she is in at the time of her heliacal (Eastern sky) morning rise is invariably the same sign she is rising in in the Western sky on her evening star ascent, clearly establishing that her current Overstory is indeed Pisces.

Abandoning The Lexicon of Classical Astrology

 

What are we to make of her ingress into Taurus now? In classical astrology Venus is said to “rule” Taurus. The astrological system of the Turning of The Ages Mystery School, known as the Shamanic Astrology Paradigm ™, has long abandoned much of the lexicon of classical astrology.

For example:

• “Ruler” and “ruler-ship” becomes most resonant
• The use of the terms “detriment” and “exalted” have been retired, as a planet has an equally important intention in all of the signs, without hierarchy or judgment.
• “Opposition” becomes resonant polarity
• “Hard” (as in hard aspect) becomes dynamic
• The use of “Positive” for Masculine and “Negative” for Feminine has equally been retired.
• “Galactic Anticenter” becomes Galactic Edge
• “Superior Conjunctions” and “Inferior Conjunctions” become exterior and interior
• “Major” and “Minor” Lunar Standstills become Outer and Inner Lunar Standstills 

I have since the 1970s greatly disliked the use of the term “ruler” and the concept of “ruler-ship”. For reference, you can for instance watch this episode of The Further Adventures of Shamanic Astrology. When the Hellenistic astrologers brilliantly created the tropical Zodiac, an Earth zodiac, fixed on equinoxes and solstices, it was an entire self-standing archetype itself. There was a consistency of number, proportion and element. However, as a product of those times, it has built-in biases and assumptions, such as patriarchal connotations and dualistic judgments of high-low, good-bad, etc. Whatever the original intention of the terminology, I think we can do better now. Let’s do our best to not be hamstrung by outdated ways of thinking, and by unwittingly using certain words further perpetuate our programmed understanding.

 

Venus – Taurus Resonance

 

Venus surely has a beautiful resonance with Taurus – and Libra – with specific intentions and purposes. Venus in Taurus has possibly the strongest resonance, as many qualities of Venus are like Taurus. But that is surely not better or qualifying as a “ruler”. All Venus placements have equal value with differing purposes and intentions. In my 57 years of astrological practice, I have had many friends and clients with Venus in Taurus (as well as Mars in Aries and other so-called ruler-ships). More often than not they thought it meant it was better and that they would be somehow lucky. Some would even brag about it! In my perception though, these classical ruler-ship assignments blinded them, and they were even less able than others to perceive their shadow. Instead, it created more excuses, let’s say with Mars in Aries, for narcissism or aggression.

 

Venus’ Intent in Taurus

 

Ascending Evening star Venus in Taurus, within the Second Chakra Portal, is surely a beautiful resonance. The intent includes beauty and aesthetics, intimacy as art, and right receivership, derived from knowing what is good. It best ascribes to the core foundations of Epicurean Philosophy: Upon finding something that feels good, make it last as long as possible, take it as deep as possible, and be moderate with it – nothing in excess. Within this approach can be found the capacity to really enjoy our physical embodiment and to perceive and create beauty. As a second chakra alignment, the joy and celebration of intimacy, including sexual, can be accessed and remembered. As we approach the Beltane/Bealtaine cross-quarter, this is a hopeful harbinger!

 

Don’t Ignore The Shadow

 

Meanwhile, the shadow of this ingress cannot be ignored. In some of my latest writings and on Day 2 of our Equinox Seminars just over a week ago, I explored the horoscopes of many of the main characters currently populating the world stage. Whether we like it or not, they are setting the tone in this ever escalating war scenario, plunging the world into a global economic, financial, and political reset, clearly manipulated through instigated chaos.

Here are a few examples of Taurus placements:

• Larry Fink: Moon 27Taurus and Jupiter 16Taurus
• Donald Trump: MC 24Taurus
• Larry Ellison: MC 28Taurus
• Israel: Sun 23Taurus and North Node 14Taurus
• Putin: Venus 8Taurus

The shadow of Taurus includes the fear of scarcity, resulting in an attempt to control resources. The perversion and debauchery found in the Epstein files is another example. I am reminded of the imagery of the Seven of Cups card in the Crowley Tarot.

The non-partisan commentator Simon Dixon said the following that articulates the Taurus shadow well:

“They are shorting the apocalypse for profit.”

 

A Healed and Vibrant Prime Earth

 

At this Great Turning of The Ages, and past the end of the Kali Yuga, there is no possible “security” except our connection as Divine Authentic Pure Humans to Spirit, Soul and Creator.

With Venus in Taurus, let’s create beauty and art as best we can, value our intimacy with those we love, and continue to vision a healed and vibrant Prime Earth.
