Though i haven’t followed Venus’ descent closely, this particular cycle has great relevance for me because when she rose in Pisces back in March of this year, she was very close to my angles. Then, on April 12, she began her descent journey by stationing direct almost exactly by degree and minute on my Ascendant. I certainly feel the impact of that alignment, more so the closer we got towards the end of the descent journey.
Which is why now, settled for the winter in Southern Spain following a very long period of Neptunian wandering, i made it a mission to go out in the early mornings and create sacred ceremony around seeing if and until when Venus could still be spotted.
By rule of thumb, Venus enters the Underworld when she enters within a 10° orb of the Sun, reiterated by Daniel when i mentioned my sightings:
“Since the late 1990s, research into the synodic cycles of Venus and Mars has been a foundational feature of our school and astrological paradigm. With every cycle, with every synod, we learn something new. The current Venus descent cycle has been no exception! We had speculated that the 8th Gate of “Death by Intent” would only last about a week. But reports are coming in that even now, less than 10degrees from the Sun, Venus is still well visible before dawn. This points out that her descent is exceptionally slow, which may have to do with which arm of her 5-pointed pentacle she’s on.
When will she truly disappear into the underworld?”
Spoiler alert: YES, there have been and still are sightings from my location!
The 8th Gate
First, if you haven’t seen it elsewhere yet, the photo of the 8th Gate, taken November 18 at 7:25 CET. My coordinates are approx. 37°North/4° West. Venus is visible if you imagine a line going from the Moon towards the third “step” on the hill of Salobreña Castle. Zoom in for best results.
“Official” Descent into The Underworld
Even in our school’s own research and extensive document detailing this Venus Cycle (meticulously brought together by Silvianne K. Delmars!), it states

However, here she glows in the morning sky of November 26:
As of Today, December 2 2025
Unfortunately, following November 26, there have been a couple of cloudy days here. But this morning, December 2, i ventured out once again to see what i could see.
Lo and behold, now only 8° from the Sun, she is still lingering … as if she’s not quite ready to surrender yet, as if to contemplate a little longer what might await her past the 8th Gate … Or perhaps, to take a little longer to instruct her faithful servant Ninshubar (Mercury) what to do and where to go for help should Inanna not emerge from her dark sister Ereshkigal’s lair within three days …

But whatever the intention and reason for hesitation might be, i did spot her this morning! Though my phone camera was not able to capture her dim light anymore. After having to clear a high cloud bank on the horizon, she only dipped into view very briefly, shortly before sunrise, and quickly got covered by clouds again. However, i did capture Mercury, overseen by prominent Zubenelshamali and Zubenelgenubi in the Scales constellation. And i indicated where Venus was when i spotted her.
