Certification Overview

In the Turning of the Ages Mystery School Astrologer Certification program, you will discover a unique astrological approach to understanding birth charts, tracking planetary transits, working with relationship dynamics, navigating the night sky, and connecting with the larger cycles of the cosmos.
Through this process, you will learn both the technical and astrological aspects of TOTAMS over a series of five unique courses, offered both online and in person. Successful completion of the Certification program will give you a well-rounded, comprehensive astrology approach that will set you up for profound personal growth and prepare you for the next steps in your astrological journey.

The TOTAMS Astrologer Certification Program supports individuals in deepening their personal relationship with the astrological mysteries by developing their own personal connection to the land and sky. We also support those who are building an astrology practice, or seeking to add the TOTAMS technique to their existing practice.

You do not need any previous experience with astrology to begin your journey.
There are two levels of certification offered by TOTAMS. Both can be applied to counseling, astronomy, self-help, spiritual work, healing practices and much more.

LEVEL 1

Foundational Program
Certified TOTAMS Astrologer

In Level 1, you’ll learn how to become an astrological counselor using the TOTAMS Astrology Paradigm. This level focuses on how to read the birth chart at different levels, including timing, cycles and chart comparisons.

Course 1 - Understanding Birth Charts: The Journey of the Soul

Unlike traditional approaches to astrology, the TOTAMS Paradigm is focused on personal growth and uncovering the archetypal essence of each astrological signature.

Course 2 - Tracking Transits: Seasons & Cycles

Affect profound personal transformation through the practical application of natal aspects and tracking planetary transits.

Course 3 - Relationships: Chart Comparison & Inner Wholeness

Open greater potential for powerful, loving relationship with yourself and others, and develop a sense of inner wholeness. 

LEVEL 1

Requirements for Completion

Prerequisites: None
Course Requirements for Level 1 Certification
  • Complete all 3 Level 1 courses and the Learning Reviews
  • Work with a TOTAMS Mentor (minimum of 4 sessions). These are $100/session or included in the certification package. CLICK HERE for a list of Approved Mentors
  • Submit astrological readings for review by your mentor
  • Commit to the TOTAMS Code of Conduct & licensing agreement
  • Commit to continuing your education and developing your knowledge and skills as astrologer within the school
  • Have an active Premium Membership (included in certification package)
  • Attend graduation ceremony (in person or online)

**additional mentoring sessions may be required on a case by case basis if determined necessary for you to fully master the material.

Certificate Received Upon Completion
Upon successful completion of each level, you’ll receive a Certificate of Graduation with your official designation from TOTAMS.

LEVEL 2

Fully Initiated
Certified TOTAMS Astrologer

Level 2 deepens your understanding by engaging you with the initiatory process of developing a personal relationship with the land and the sky, getting you off the chart and into the land. You will learn to observe timings in the sky visibly using sacred space, and how to bring that back into the chart for a more advanced level of interpretation.

Course 4 - Cosmology: Navigating the Night Sky

Learn to identify the night sky with your naked eye and become aware where our lives fit into the bigger pictures of time and the cosmos.

Course 5 - The Overstory: Cycles of Inner Planets

Uncover the mysteries of the Inner Planets from both astronomical and astrological perspectives, and create an understanding of your individual birth chart in a larger story and a deeper relationship to the night sky.

LEVEL 2

Requirements for Completion

Prerequisites: Level 1: Foundational Certification
Course Requirements for Level 2 Certification
  • Complete all Level 1 and 2 courses and the Learning Reviews 
  • Have an active Premium Membership (included in certification package)
  • Continue working with a TOTAMS mentor and attend an additional 3 mentoring sessions. ($100/session or included in Certification Package)
  • Gain direct experience of land and sky by personally working with a sacred site or hierophany of your choice for at least one year.
  • Undertake an overnight astrological vision quest initiation ceremony
  • Submit graduation project or thesis. Work with a mentor to agree on a project.
Certificate Received Upon Completion

1. What is the difference between the 2 certification tracks?
There are two levels of astrologer certification in understanding the TOTAMS approach that can also be applied to counseling, astronomy, self-help, spiritual work, healing practices and much more. 

Level 1: Foundational Certified TOTAMS Astrologer

In Level 1, you’ll learn how to become an astrological counselor using the TOTAMS Astrology Paradigm. This level focuses on how to read the birth chart at different levels, including timing cycles and chart comparisons.

Level 2: Fully Initiated Certified TOTAMS Astrologer

Level 2 deepens your understanding by engaging you with the initiatory process of developing a personal relationship with the land and the sky, getting you off the chart and on to the land. You will learn to observe timings in the sky with your naked eye and to create and make use of sacred space. Finally, you will learn how apply this back into the chart for a more advanced level of interpretation.

2. What certification packages are available?
There are three main certification packages available. You can take either Level 1 or Level 2 on their own, or take them combined for an even more discounted price. Any of the three can be taken as either self-study or group guided options.
3. I am confused about what course or package to buy?

4. How long will this take me?
Self Study packages are self-paced online programs, and you have access to them for x amount of time. There are x hours of videos and additional exercise to further your learning. 

Guided Group packages are also available. Generally, group programs meet every other week for 2 months per course,though check the current offerings as this is subject to change.  The Level 1 Certification 1 will take approximately 9 months to 1 year to complete all the courses and requirements. 6. How can I use this certification?
You will be certified as a TOTAMS astrologer. You can then practice astrology as a career, or add this knowledge and certification into your current practice as an astrologer, healer, coach or therapist. Living and embodying this knowledge will change your life.  You will become empowered to share deep wisdom, help heal relationships, and in knowing the timings of your life, your clients’ lives, and globally.

8. How am I assigned a mentor?
Mentoring involves a soul to soul connection between mentor and mentee. We encourage you to choose a mentor you feel most resonant with. You may choose from our Approved Mentor List HERE, and feel free to Contact Us for a conversation to help you select one.

 

9. What is the project or thesis all about
You and your mentor will decide on a project or thesis that contributes to the body of knowledge of TOTAMS. It will be self-guided and based upon your interests.

Your project will be something that’s fun and inspiring for you, such as a research project on sacred sites, creating a Course that blends Turning of the Ages Astrology with another perspective such as yoga or energy work, or a marketing project that helps further our existing programs. 

The possibilities are limitless!

10. Can I do Certification studies on my own and at my own pace?
Yes, the Self-Study track is designed for you.
11. Are there opportunities for engaging with others?
Yes, the Guided Group track is designed for you. It brings you into a community of like-minded souls learning the material together. You may find study partners and learn more in the group format. 
12. Can I take the courses in person?
From time to time, TOTAMS offers in-person immersions for these courses. These count towards the certification requirements. You can check our calendar for in-person offerings here.

13. What kind of support will I get during the process?
One on one mentoring is available for any course or package at additional cost. Group Mentoring takes place monthly and is included in Premium Membership. 14. What are the benefits to maintaining a certification?
Certified TOTAMS astrologers have access to the yearly Continuing Education Call hosted once a year by Daniel Giamario.
